Getting your map from OpenOrienteeringMap

Rendering options allows you to choose which details you wish to show
Here we can see walls and fences which make the map difficult to read
  1. Pick your selected map style as StreetO or PseudO (what you see on screen will not change at this point)
  2. Click on the Preview button to see what your final map will look like
  3. Some areas may contain lots of walls, hedges, fences, etc. which obscure details such as paths. If so, click on the Rendering options button and choose which features you want on your map. After picking the options, click on Preview to check the changes
  4. Once the map is suitable, click on Save & get PDF map
  5. You will probably be shown a Validation error warning as you have not altered the race instructions. If so, click OK to ignore this
  6. Your map will be downloaded as a PDF file with a filename similar to oom_1234567890abc.pdf. The code after oom_ is unique to your map and can be used to access your map later. For example, if there are map updates and you need to re-download the base map, using this code will ensure it covers exactly the same area.
  7. Click on the KMZ button. This will download a KMZ file which, like the PDF file, will have your map ID in its name. It is recommended that you do not rename the KMZ or PDF files as the ID can be used to quickly check that they contain the same map based on the same data
