Two Courses.

Birchenwood Country Park

A fun and challenging MapRun Course that takes you around Birchenwood Country Park. An excellent hidden gem and popular MapRun course.

Whitehill Urban

This course starts at Birchenwood Car Park but actually goes out around the streets and paths of Whitehill. This is a challenging terrain which offers some real undulations, making course choice an interesting aspect. This is an enjoyable course and one that regardless of age or ability you will come back smiling from.

Course: MapRun Challenge 2020 Birchenwood Linear

5.0 km line

This is a Line course which means you need to get all 23 controls in order. The fastest time wins.

As the crow flies, the distance is 5.0 km. It is likely you will travel quite a bit further; in an urban environment, the quickest route may be as much as 50% longer.

This is a Start Anywhere course which means you do not need to start/finish at the triangle. You can pick the most convenient control and start there. Remember you need to return to the same control that you started at in order to finish. The start/finish control on the map becomes a valid, scoring control with number 24 so don't forget to visit it.

Course: Whitehill Urban Course A Score

60 minute score

This is a Score course which means you should get as many controls as you can within 60 minutes.

There are 33 controls in total. You do not need to get them all and you can visit them in any order.

Each control scores 20 points. For each minute or part-minute you are late back, you will lose 10 points. The highest number of points wins. The time you take is used as tie-break.

This is a Start Anywhere course which means you do not need to start/finish at the triangle. You can pick the most convenient control and start there. Remember you need to return to the same control that you started at in order to finish. The start/finish control on the map becomes a valid, scoring control with number 34 so bear in mind the number of points it will score as shown above.
