Summer Training 2022- Wildridings-sprint
Berkshire Orienteering (BKO) welcomes you to our Summer Training 2022- Wildridings-sprint MapRun event. There are 6 courses available.
Details
A series of 1.2 -2.2km loops. Note that these all cross minor roads and may mean cutting through parked cars so please be aware of traffic. There will also be blind corners, please be considerate of other users of the area.
Course SL2 has fewere road crossings and would be slightly safer. Junior is a easier technical diffciculty and does not cross any roads and would be safer for younger children.
Suggest using the courses to focus on:
1. Orienting the map
2. Planning routes (Route choice and executing routes)
3. Keeping map contact.
With no kites in place and many parrallel features, it is easy to lose contact with the map, particularly at speed so aim to keep speed up!
