Details

All controls are lampposts.
Apart from the fields, the only parts that aren’t tarmac are some of the paths across the grass, so road shoes will be fine. There is no advantage to be gained by running through the wooded areas on the map, so shorts are fine too.

Parking

Car – free car parking at Whitley Wood Recreation Ground (What3Words ///wisdom.tens.poppy). Some parking in adjacent roads if this is full.



Cycle – no parking racks but you may be able to lock a bike to various signs by the car park.

Bus – Reading Buses 6, 6a and 7 stop at Hartland Road, close to the car park.

60 minute score

This is a Score course which means you should get as many controls as you can within 60 minutes.

There are 30 controls in total. You do not need to get them all and you can visit them in any order.

Controls score different numbers of points:
  • Controls numbered 10 to 19 score 10 points
  • Controls numbered 20 to 29 score 20 points
  • Controls numbered 30 to 39 score 30 points
For each minute or part-minute you are late back, you will lose 20 points. The highest number of points wins. The time you take is used as tie-break.
