Milton Country Park
West Anglian Orienteering Club (WAOC) welcomes you to our Milton Country Park Permanent Orienteering Course.
Details
Milton Country Park combines woods, park land and lakes. There is a cafe and toilet facilities as well as playground and a variety of walks and picnic areas.
As of July 2024, all posts have been reinstated. Please make sure you are using the latest map. Thanks to the Milton Country Park team at Cambridge Sports Lakes for all their hard work. The markers on tha posts may be rather faded. Port 14 is very prone to being smothered in vegetation.
While you can visit the controls in any order, the course is designed to be visited in numerical order. For a short course, visit 1 to 12. For a long course, visit 1 to 29.
Parking
There is plenty of parking at Milton Country Park. The car park fee is one of the most important sources of revenue for the park, with money from ticket sales going directly towards the upkeep of the park.
Current fees are as follows...
Up to 30 mins: £1
30 mins - 2 hours: £3.00
2 hours - all day: £5.00
Course: Milton CP POC (not MapRun)
Score, no time limit
This course does not use MapRun, so it is not timed and you do not need a phone. At each control site, you will see a red/white coloured plaque with the control number on and a letter. Please write down the letter in the box on your map.
This is a Score course which means you should get as many controls as you can.
There are 21 controls in total. You do not need to get them all and you can visit them in any order.
