Cambridge South
West Anglian Orienteering Club (WAOC) welcomes you to our Cambridge South MapRun event. There are 2 courses available.
Details
There are two different maps for each course. The results for the courses do not distinguish between the maps.
The standard maps are conventional OpenOrienteeringMap street maps.
The Mixed Up maps are copies of the normal courses with the map divided into segments and reorientated. Controls are to be run in order but you will need to find where on the sheet the next section of the map is.
Coaching points: Folding, thumbing, orientating map as well as planning ahead (try not to end up at a standstill at any point!).
Please be respectful of pedestrians, dog walkers and cyclists, and be especially careful crossing roads.

6.3 km line
This is a Line course which means you need to get all 14 controls in order. The fastest time wins.
As the crow flies, the distance is 6.3 km. It is likely you will travel quite a bit further; in an urban environment, the quickest route may be as much as 50% longer.

3.3 km line
This is a Line course which means you need to get all 8 controls in order. The fastest time wins.
As the crow flies, the distance is 3.3 km. It is likely you will travel quite a bit further; in an urban environment, the quickest route may be as much as 50% longer.
