Shelfords and Stapleford
West Anglian Orienteering Club (WAOC) welcomes you to our Shelfords and Stapleford MapRun event. There are 3 courses available.

There are two line courses and one score course.
The line courses are part of our 2023-2024 league until the end of 6th Feb 2024, so to take part, please email go@oentry.uk to request a payment link.
N.B. The map scale for the score course is 1:12500. This means everywhere will be 25% further than you expect! The map scale for the line courses is the usual 1:10000.
Parking
There is parking on the streets near to the Square and Compasses pub. The pub cark itself is quite small, so please do not use that.
Course: Shelfords and Stapleford
45 minute score
This is a Score course which means you should get as many controls as you can within 45 minutes.
There are 30 controls in total. You do not need to get them all and you can visit them in any order.
Each control scores 20 points. For each minute or part-minute you are late back, you will lose 10 points. The highest number of points wins. The time you take is used as tie-break.UK > West Anglia > League Summer 2021
Course: Shelford and Stapleford 2024 Long
6.0 km line
This is a Line course which means you need to get all 19 controls in order. The fastest time wins.
As the crow flies, the distance is 6.0 km. It is likely you will travel quite a bit further; in an urban environment, the quickest route may be as much as 50% longer.

4.1 km line
This is a Line course which means you need to get all 13 controls in order. The fastest time wins.
As the crow flies, the distance is 4.1 km. It is likely you will travel quite a bit further; in an urban environment, the quickest route may be as much as 50% longer.
